Synopsis Students will realize that traditional First Nation people practiced a sustainability lifestyle for thousands of years, which permitted them to live entirely in balance with nature and at the same time meet their nutritional needs. They will develop an appreciation for the gathering/harvesting practices and food preservation technology that First Nations people passed down through generations and will recognize that although First Nations diets have changed over time and adapted to modern conveniences, a healthy diet based on the First Nations Canada Food guide is still necessary and attainable.
