| Synopsis
|
Students will realize that traditional First Nation people practiced a
sustainability lifestyle for thousands of years, which permitted them
to live entirely in balance with nature and at the same time meet
their nutritional needs. They will develop an appreciation for the
gathering/harvesting practices and food preservation technology that
First Nations people passed down through generations and
will recognize that although First Nations diets have changed over
time and adapted to modern conveniences, a healthy diet based on the
First Nations Canada Food guide is still necessary and attainable.
