| Synopsis
|
Igis and Qos try to have a child without success, so Igis calls upon
Dzunukwa, a witch-creature to help. She agrees, but warns that if the
child ever calls out in sadness then Dzunukwa will return and take,
not only the child, but all the village children as well!
Igis agrees and they have a son, Klundux. All is well until one day
the child, tired of being teased, runs away crying and calls out to
Dzunukwa to take him away. Dzunukwa returns and takes all the
children. The parents find Dzunukwa's home and discover the children
happily playing. Frog suggests the children come to play with Dzunukwa
in the summer months when the parents are busy with work, then return
to the village in the fall. Dzunukwa agrees, but she misses the
children and her tears fall every time they depart, which is why the
clouds come and the rain falls until summer returns.
