| Synopsis
|
The Métis invention of the Red River cart that brought the first
wheeled transportation to the Canadian Prairies is the centerpiece of
this educational resource developed by the University of Victoria. It
provides young children with culturally relevant physical activities
and builds cultural awareness of the Métis while developing sound
motor and physical skills which influences social, emotional and
cognitive development. Students hear stories and learn history of the
Metis while they make their way through an obstacle course you set up
in the classroom.
