| Synopsis
|
Adventure begins when Grandma takes her two grandchildren out for
a fishing trip on the lake. After showing the kids how to prepare for
the trip and what clothes to wear, they enjoy a day of jigging in the
ice. By the end of the day, the kids have learned how to drill and
clear holes in the ice, how to make a traditional Inuit jigging rod,
what lures to use, how to jig, and how to pull in fish once they are
hooked. And now, they can all look forward to a yummy meal of Arctic
char. This is a teaching story containing much factual information.
More information -Inuit fishing tools and Inuktitut terms -are at the
end of the book.
