Synopsis This program presents information about the use and abuse of alcohol and how it affects a persons body and brain. Designed specifically for young learners, the program provides students with simple illustrations of how alcohol can negatively affect normal body functions. After viewing this program, children will come to understand that alcohol is a drug that can be very addictive. They will also come to understand that even though alcohol is legal for adults, it is not legal for younger people because of its harmful effects on a developing body and brain. Learning Objectives: After viewing this program, children will: understand alcohol is a drug that can be addictive learn that alcohol is legal to consume for adults 21 years of age and up understand the short term effects of alcohol learn that the long term abuse of alcohol can lead to many kinds of disease recognize that alcoholism negatively impacts individuals, families and communities.
